African Border and Mobility Society (ABMS)
Excellence in Border and Mobility Research
ABMS is a scholarly and professional society dedicated to advancing research, policy engagement, and capacity building in Border and Migration Studies across Africa. Founded by Dr. Samuel Kehinde Okunade of the Department of Border and Migration Studies, Lagos State University, ABMS brings together scholars, practitioners, and policymakers to foster interdisciplinary dialogue on borders and mobility in Africa.
What We Do
We promote interdisciplinary research on border, migration, and regional integration issues; build the capacity of students, scholars, and practitioners through training, conferences, and workshops; and advocate for the institutionalization of Border and Migration Studies as a distinct academic discipline across African universities.
